New, improved, enhanced Olympus nitrate retention cartridge

(Double the amount of resin for greater nitrate retention)

QUESTIONS

How do I change the cartridge?;

Unscrew the old cartridge and screw the new one in without tightening it. No tools are needed. Before first use, let the water run for 2-3 minutes to clean the new cartridge.

How do I know which cartridge fits?;

Check the color of the thread of the current cartridge. Olympus: green or black for chlorine, bacteria, pesticides, heavy metals and so on, blue for salts, red for nitrates. If you are not sure, call us at 210 240 5900.

How often should I change?;

The cartridge is changed every 12 months or 8,000 liters of water, whichever comes first. In the meantime, it can be cleaned to extend its life.

Instructions for Renewing (Regenerating) Resin in Salt and Nitrate Cartridges

The descaling cartridge (blue base cap for the regular Olympus model)+ and yellow base cap for the model GIGA) as well as the nitrate retention cartridge (red base cap for the regular Olympus model+ and white base cap for the model GIGA) require regeneration of the resin as follows:

OLYMPUS STANDARD FILTER+:

For water with a hardness of up to 20-22 mg/L in German degrees, resin regeneration should be done approximately every 350 liters of water.

OLYMPUS GIGA FILTER:

Same as on the regular Olympus model+. Resin regeneration should be done in approximately 350 liters of water with a hardness of up to 20-22. mg/L to German Degrees.

FOR THE NITRATE CARTRIDGE:

For nitrates up to 55 mg/L, the resin regeneration should be done in approximately 150 liters of water. For nitrates above 55 mg/L, the regeneration process should be done in fewer liters of water. The more often the process is repeated, but also the less water comes out of the filter tap, the better the nitrate reduction result will be in both our models (normal & GIGA).

To regenerate the resin of each cartridge so that it can again reduce calcium-magnesium salts or nitrates, the following procedure should be followed:

1) Unscrew the cartridge from the device.

2) Fill a narrow container with a capacity of 1-2 liters with water and add 3-4 tablespoons of table salt, which we stir well to dissolve before putting the ampoule in (prefer coarse salt).

3) We immerse the resin cartridge in the water, making sure that it is 100% covered by the salt water.

4) After approximately 30 – 45 minutes, we remove the cartridge from the brine and, after rinsing it externally with tap water, we place it back in the device.

5) Turn on the tap for about 1 minute to rinse the inside of the flask from the brine and that's it.

RESIN CARTRIDGE CHANGE

The duration of the resin cartridge is 10-12 months (like the activated carbon ceramic cartridge), so it is essential to change it.
